Alocasia Silver Dragon
Updated: Aug 13, 2019

Alocasia silver dragon stays compact and native to South-East Asia. The leaves have a contrasting blend of dark and light green colours. As other Alocasias, silver dragon likes warm and humid environment.
To increase the humidity around a houseplant, place the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water. Be sure the plant is sitting on the pebbles and not in the water.
Care:
Light:
Place it in a bright spot where it won’t be burned by full sun. A north or east-facing window is ideal.
Temperature:
Keep this alocasia between 15 and 30 ˚C.
Water:
Thoroughly water the soil, but allow it to dry before re-watering. Never let the plant sit in standing water.
Fertilising:
Fertilise lightly during the growing season and not at all during winter.
Potting:
Plant it in a well-draining potting media and don’t rush with repotting because it likes to be slightly potbound.
Propagation:
This plant grows from bulbs.
Toxicity:
All of the Alocasias are toxic if eaten. Keep away from children and pets.
